Physiotherapy

PHYSIOTHERAPY

Physiotherapy is a hands-on approach to the prevention and treatment of injury and disease with emphasis on the promotion of mobility and function to enhance health, wellness and quality of life.  Physiotherapy emerges from the science of movement – it strives to practice a holistic approach to enhance or restore function of multiple body systems.

The Canadian Physiotherapy Association describes physiotherapists as “primary health care professionals who combine their in-depth knowledge of the body and how it moves, with specialized hands-on clinical skills to assess, diagnose and treat symptoms of illness, injury or disability.”  These specialized clinical skills focus on facilitating optimal function of the body’s joints, muscles, connective tissues and motor patterns.
